SONATAS
mixed media assemblages that include piano parts
My assemblages are based upon the combination of often disparate found objects, and informed by my past work as a composer of music. So I was delighted when my wife and I found the discarded keyboard and hammer assembly of an old upright piano. As I started working with these various piano parts as abstract shapes in combination with other materials and artist pigments, the idea of doing a series of works with these objects gradually began to form. That work resulted in this series of Sonatas and Nocturnes.
